General Performance - 1:

ATI's RD580: ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe General Performance - 1
CPU usage on the ASUS A8R32-MVP was very good - it had a lower CPU utilisation than the three motherboards we've compared it to in single card mode with a GeForce 7800 GT OC. When the board was operating in CrossFire mode, CPU usage was slightly higher than what we experienced in single card mode, but it was still lower than the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe in both single and dual card mode.

We didn't experience any slow down in our MP3 encoding test - the ASUS A8R32-MVP was as fast as any other motherboard in this test. There was also no performance drop when running the motherboard in CrossFire mode with two Radeon X1900's - the encode time still remained just over 2 1/2 minutes.

The ASUS A8R-MVP was the fastest board in single card mode in this particular test, being a few seconds faster than the DFI LANParty nF4 SLI-DR. However, performance increased when CrossFire mode was enabled. The ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe was the slowest by a few seconds in CrossFire mode, but was faster than the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe when we used a single 7800 GT OC.
